BIOGRAPHY

I am a Physical Education teacher at Calapooia Middle school, where I have been teaching since 1999. I have a bachelors of science in Physical Education from the University of Kansas with a double minor in Health Education and Adaptive Physical Education. I then earned a master’s of arts in Teaching Physical Education at Oregon State. I was an All American swimmer for the Jayhawks as well as an Olympic Trials qualifier. My love for coaching began there, at the University of Kansas, first as a 5th year assistant, then as a youth club team coach, and finally as a Masters club team coach.

I was the head varsity swim coach at South Albany High School for 9 years, then became an assistant coach for West Albany. I have coached middle school track and field for the past 20 years, as well as middle school cross country for two years.

I am CrossFit Level 1 certified and although most of my coaching has been at the youth level, I thoroughly enjoy coaching and working with adults.

I have many food sensitivities/restrictions therefore I am a clean eater and believe through and through that food is medicine.
